Johnson ideal as commissioner

I encourage you to vote for Mary Lou Johnson for Spokane County commissioner.

Johnson has been involved in health care in Spokane since 1979. She worked for many years as a family nurse practitioner, providing health care to individuals of all ages, children through seniors. She was an early leader of the Spokane Nurse Practitioner Group.

In the past, I served as a member of the Spokane Regional Health District Board. I am aware of the important role county commissioners have in determining health policies that affect all Spokane County citizens. We need a commissioner who has a health care background, cares about individuals and issues, and wants to make a real difference. Johnson is that person.

After spending many years in health care, she became an attorney and spent two decades working in the criminal justice system. Reportedly, two-thirds of individuals in jail have either mental health problems or drug-related issues.

A candidate with both professional health care and professional criminal justice backgrounds is ideal.

I encourage you to vote for Mary Lou Johnson for Spokane County commissioner.
