Walkabout snapped this photos of trees leveled between Dike Road (Rosenberry Drive), along the western boundary of North Idaho College this week. Trees were cut and brush removed as part of a levee stabilization project. At one point, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers had declared that all the trees were to be removed to protect the bank in case of a serious flood. But the corps backed off. Dozens of trees — the ones with green dots on them — are still to be removed.
