An offensive Saturday of Pac-12 games

There weren’t so many fireworks in Arizona’s win over Texas-San Antonio on Thursday and Washington State’s loss on Friday was a defensive struggle.  But Saturday was a series of shootouts for the Pac-12 and with the exception of the two teams involved in USC’s 13-10 win over Stanford, every conference team scored at least 38 points.

— Eastern Washington had (by far) the best player on the field, but Cyler Miles and the Huskies offense held on for a win in a game that was without defense. Chris Petersen sat one of his best defenders after a boneheaded penalty and embarrassing outburst .

— Arizona State had no trouble scoring on an overmatched New Mexico team.

— This California team might be for real .

— Colorado managed to beat UMass , barely.

— Oregon looked every bit a playoff-caliber team in a route of Michigan State .

— Oregon State held on for the Pac-12’s second close win over Hawaii.

— But Stanford’s playoff hopes took a hit and USC looks like it’s already ready to contend in the Pac-12.

— UCLA had another close win over a subpar opponent, but at least the offense looked good .

— Utah’s offense thoroughly dominated Fresno State.
