Jacque Batt, Former First Lady, RIP

Former Idaho First Lady Jacque Batt died Sunday. She was married to former Gov. Phil Batt for 66 years. The cause of death is unknown. A death notice was not immediately available Monday. State Sen. Patti Anne Lodge, who lives in Canyon County, said she knew Jacque Batt personally through political events over the years. Lodge said the former first lady was a private person who was kind and thoughtful. “I never heard her say a negative thing about anybody,” Lodge said. Secretary of State Ben Ysursa called Jacque Batt gracious and a “solid, supportive partner for Gov. Batt.” ” Obviously, he’s down, but he’s a tough character, so he’ll get through this,” Ysursa said/Idaho Statesman. More here.
