Regarding “Fiesta great celebration of Latinos in Spokane” (Sept. 3):

It is encouraging to see that an awareness of our local ethnocentricity is being acknowledged, and that efforts are being made to lessen that restrictive way of seeing our world.

I have a suggestion for The Spokesman-Review. Use the letter “ñ” with a tilde where appropriate. By doing so, you would finally be able to correctly spell some Latino words and names, thereby offering a little more respect to the Latinos.

The “ñ” with tilde is quite distinct from the letter “n,” and as we all know in this expanding era of social awareness, it is never good to flaunt one’s own ignorance (even though I do).
