Bad water vote

On Sept. 9, the House of Representatives voted on and passed HR 5078, the Waters of the United States Regulatory Overreach Protection Act. This bill serves to limit the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ ability to undertake a rule clarifying which of our national waters are protected from increased risks of pollution and destruction. The rule is intended to provide for clean drinking water for national park visitors and habitat for park wildlife.

As you might guess, there’s nothing in this for the corporate puppet masters, so our District 5 Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers voted in favor of it on a roll call vote. It’s astounding that a representative from an agricultural district could possibly vote against clean water, but McMorris Rodgers did just that.

I’m voting for Joe Pakootas. McMorris Rodgers is just too far out of touch with her constituents as she pursues her political career.
