A few more comments from the Spokane Chiefs as they prepared for Wednesday’s Game 3 with a practice Tuesday at Eagles Ice-A-Rena:
Captain Jason Fram on whether the Game 2 win gave the Chiefs momentum: “I wouldn’t say it’s too much of an advantage. It’s one game and (the series is) tied. You have to win four games, obviously, to advance on to the next round. So right now I’d say it’s pretty even. They won once and we won once. Now it’s right back to square one.”
Goalie Garret Hughson on Everett starting rookie goalie Carter Hart for the first two games. (Austin Lotz replaced Hart during Spokane’s four-goal first period on Saturday.): “They have a couple of good goalies over there. We got a couple (of goals) early (Saturday) and they made the switch. … (Hart has) had a good year. I don’t know what their plan is for that.”
Head coach Don Nachbaur on the team’s spirits after two games on the road: “We’re pretty confident coming out of those two games there, but with that said, we can’t change what we’re doing. We’ve made some adjustments to our game and we’ll see how that surfaces tomorrow. But the biggest thing with us coming in is we’re really just trying to get better and focus on what we’re doing.”
