Kindness won’t protect

I disagree with Larry Winters’ March 27 letter, “Israel friendship strained.” The speech to Congress by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was not an attempt to dominate U.S. foreign policy, but a timely warning from a friend about an approaching disaster.

The Obama administration is negotiating a nuclear deal with Iran, which is calling for the destruction of Israel and the death of the United States. The president says he will not agree to a bad treaty. This coming from the same person who has promised that if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor, we will get to the bottom of Benghazi, we will investigate Fast and Furious, there is not one smidgen of corruption in the IRS targeting conservative groups, Yemen is a success story, etc.

Based on the past performance of our president, when he says one thing, you can expect the exact opposite. Look at the Middle East. We see the results of America’s policy of non-domination. Look at Yemen, ISIS, Libya, Syria and Iraq. I know that we should live in peace, but it is insanity to go pet the rabid dog in the backyard with the belief that kindness will protect you.
