Poll: Gookin Attempt Wrong

• Wednesday Poll: Overwhelmingly, Hucks Nation disagreed with an attempt by Councilman Dan Gookin, with assistance from Councilman Ron Edinger, to get the city to forgive $845,100 in LID fees owed by property owners for Front Avenue improvements. 178 of 200 respondents (84%) opposed Gookin’s action to erase the LID IOUs for some of the town’s richest residents. Only 25 of 200 respondents (12.5%) agreed with Gookin’s failed attempt at the City Council meeting Tuesday. 7 (3.5%) were undecided.
