Edit: Idaho Deserves Dignity, Repect

The bedrock ideal of religious freedom — and its necessary companion, tolerance — has not fared well lately in Idaho. Three state senators, citing their Christian faith, made national news when they refused to sit through a prayer offered by a Hindu cleric. A dozen or so legislators, mostly from north Idaho and led by the perpetually short-sighted and reactionary Vito Barbieri, of Dalton Gardens, recently attended a luncheon titled, “The true face of Islam.” On the menu that day were heaping helpings of fear-mongering and falsehoods. Finally, as reported April 2 by the Post Register’s Bryan Clark, an article in the Bonneville County Republican Party’s newsletter stoked fear about Muslims “infiltrating even places like Idaho”/ Corey Taule, Idaho Falls Post Register .
