Approve the Cheney bond
We are writing to support Cheney School District’s high school bond measure in the April 28 election.
As retired educators from Cheney School District and Eastern Washington University, we are proud of our growing school district, and this bond continues our investment in our students and schools.
Anyone who has been in Cheney High School knows the immediate need for relief for our kids who are trying to learn in portables. They are eating lunch in the hallways. Student athletes are being bused to other locations that have enough room for them to practice.
Our students and our community deserve better. Not only do good schools facilitate student learning, they create attractiveness in the Cheney community for prospective home buyers.
If you have any doubts about why we need to approve this bond for our kids, we urge you to see Cheney High School firsthand by attending a tour on Monday at 8:15 a.m. Please RSVP by contacting Troy Heuett, Cheney High School Principal at theuett@cheneysd.org.
We urge you to approve the Cheney School District bond on April 28.
