Labrador against Idahoans

Has Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador forgotten that he represents Idaho citizens? Many of his constituents have been helped tremendously by the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, which was a law when he took office in 2011.

Among my acquaintances, I’ve seen intense relief, as those with pre-existing conditions or no access to group plans finally have insurance coverage. The ACA has been shown to save money and save lives. Nevertheless, the cornerstone of Labrador’s tenure has been dozens of futile attempts to repeal the law. Why?

Lately, Labrador voted (among only 37 of 435 in Congress) against federal funding for Idaho schools and roads. Even his fellow Idaho Republican, Rep. Mike Simpson, criticized him for that vote. Could Labrador be auditioning for a better job as highly paid lobbyist for some mega-corporation? That could explain his consistent voting against the health and safety of the people of Idaho.

Let’s fire Labrador in 2016 and elect someone who will work for the interests of the citizens of Idaho. Labrador might end up with that lobbyist position, and we might get a real representative. Happy ending for all.
