Chief Lee White Describes Life As Cop

In an article published by Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living (Bozzi Media), Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White describes his transformation from Marine grunt to head of the Coeur d’Alene department:

“If you had told me that someday I was going to be Police Chief in Coeur d’Alene when I was a young grunt in the Marines, I would have sent you for a drug test or would have fallen over laughing. Working as a beat cop early in my career, I would never have dreamed of rising through the ranks of the Mesa Police Department (in Arizona) or becoming Chief in Coeur d’Alene. Most people who know me will unequivocally say that I am more suited to leadership during a hostage situation than pushing a desk, but hopefully my background on the street makes me better prepared to lead a group of people who still work on the street and appreciate their daily struggles and need for support from the top. Fortunately, having spent most of my career on the sharp end of the spear, I understand police work and what life on the street is really about. Not that glamorized portrayal of police work you watch on TV, but real cops dealing with real criminals and real victims.” More here.

Question: Have you met Chief White? Impression?
