KCSO Release: Divers Recover Body

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office has recovered the body of Reginald (Reggie) J. Nault from Lake Coeur d’Alene.

On July 21, 2015 at just after 6:00 PM, the Sheriff’s Office received a call for a possible drowning in the waters of Lake Coeur d’Alene, near Arrow Point. For the past two weeks, the Sheriff’s Office put forth nearly 600 man hours searching for Reggie Nault to include the Sheriff’s SONAR and Dive teams, Volunteer Search and Rescue Human Remains Detection (HRD) dogs and marine teams. Additionally, the Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from Ralston and Associates for additional SONAR searching. The Ralston’s searched the lake for the past four days. On August 3rd, at just after 10:00 AM, Gene Ralston advised that he had possibly located the body of Reggie Nault using his SONAR equipment. The Sheriff’s Dive team was sent to the location and with the assistance of Ralston’s remote operated vehicle (ROV), recovered the body of Reggie Nault in approximately 125’ of water.

Autopsy and toxicology results will not be available for several weeks. The death investigation is still ongoing. If anyone has information relating to this incident, they are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
