Other comments from Indians senior vice president Otto Klein on the NWL/Pioneer League All-Star Game:

—”Why would we do an all-star game between another league? Well, we have great baseball in the Northwest, so it’s an opportunity for both leagues to have good exposure.”

—”Because we have a senior staff and there were a few of us who were part of that (2004) all-star game, I think that, yes, we can draw from knowledge of that, but it’s a different animal.”

—”We wanted to keep it simple. It has to be relaxing for the players when they get here.”

—”These are the stars of the future, clearly. I wouldn’t be surprised if several of these guys make it to The Show.”

—”We’ve spit-shined the entire ballpark and there’s extra that we do in an all-year year, from a maintenance standpoint, to get ready for the game.”
