Unmarked cars dangerous

Shame on the Spokane County commissioners and Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich for approving unmarked patrol cars. Is it not possible, or even probable, that this will lead to a tragedy? Think about it. If a woman driving alone at night is asked to pull over, is that a sheriff’s car? Who knows? That car flashing its lights could be anyone who bought a former police vehicle at auction with a set of makeshift lights in the back window, with a fake badge. How is any driver to know the difference?

What if you don’t pull over immediately and it is the sheriff? How frustrated will he be; frustrated enough to handcuff, Taser or arrest you? Maybe he’ll just shoot you like the Rev. Wayne Scott Creach, who was shot by a deputy in an unmarked car on Creach’s property. Remember that one? Poor man. And the county paid out $2 million to the family.

Interesting dilemma Ozzie puts all drivers in now, and for what?
