3 Sisters Fire Burns 150 Acres
The Three Sisters Fire near Bayview grew to approximately 150 acres Tuesday night and multiple fire agencies will continue fighting the wildfire today. More than 220 people, and several air units, are attempting to curb the spread of the blaze, which is believed to have been caused by humans Tuesday afternoon. Karen Sjoquist, a spokeswoman with the Idaho Department of Lands, told The Press Wednesday that winds from the south have fire officials predicting the blaze will continue to move north, away from Bayview. “It’s an active fire, and we’re going to continue using our resources to mitigate it,” she said. The Three Sisters Fire is burning a mile and a half north of, but is unrelated to, the Cape Horn Fire, which was contained last month at 1,326 acres near Bayview/ Keith Cousins , Coeur d’Alene Press.
