Blog: Trophy Hunters Face Witch Hunt

Sabrina Corgatelli posted this photo on her Facebook page July 25, with the comment:

It’s a lot like a witch hunt. Fueled by social media and anger over the boneheaded bowhunter killing of Cecil the tourist-attraction lion in Zimbabwe, the heat is being applied to every hunter who’s posed with a critter, big or small, legal or illegal.   Myths and misunderstanding are being spread. Anti-hunting groups are loving this. In the case of an Idaho State University staffer being called out for posing with some African trophies , I like the fact that the anti-hunters can’t use their chant that the hunting was a way of proving manhood.  The hunter is a woman.  She did nothing illegal. She’s killed fewer critters in her life than McDonalds sacrifices in an hour/ SR Outdoors blog.

Question: Do you agree that social media is fueling a witch hunt against trophy hunters?
