FishinJay: What?! An SR Pay Wall?!

FishinJay: What’s with the limited free articles thing the SR is doing now? I just tried to read the AP article about the shooter in Nashville and the website blocked the article saying I’ve reached my limit of free articles. What’s particularly interesting is that it blocked me from reading an AP article. Either the Spokesman Review is unclear on the fact that I can go elsewhere to read AP articles for free, or they want me to leave their website to read AP articles. Either way trying to charge for something that’s available elsewhere for free is a poor business practice.

DFO: Indeed, the SR has instituted a fire wall, requiring a subscription to view more than 5 articles over a period of time. That may be the bad news for some of you. The good news? Not only are the SR.com blogs, like Huckleberries Online, available outside the fire wall, but the links we post from SR and AP articles published in SR.com can be opened despite fire wall.
