Road Work Hurts Midtown Thrifts

Construction on 4th Street in Coeur d’Alene is putting a damper on businesses, but these aren’t just any businesses, they support local non-profits and schools. There are several thrift shops along 4th Street and some say business is down 66-percent because of road construction which came this year in the heart of the summer tourism season when they make most of their money. Luke Thompson, the manager at Coeur d’Alene Exchange Thrift Store, says they’ve taken a hit. “I definitely don’t fault the city they generally do a great job in maintenance but it is a poor choice for the businesses around here just because it is the busiest time of year,” Thompson said/ John Hendricks , KXLY.
