A Hike Around Tubbs Hill

Walking partner Greg Lee & I hiked around Tubbs Hill today, for our regular lunch time walk. I decided this morning to hike Tubbs Hill because Greg told me that he’s never walked around it in the 30-plus years that he’s lived in Coeur d’Alene. I wanted Greg to scratch that off his local bucket list. I forgot to mention to him that the 3rd Street entrance to the hill was somewhat steep — and the trail along the west side of the hill was the rockiest part. But we managed the trail in about 30-35 minutes. It was my first time around the hill in two years. I was impressed that I saw no dog poop or litter along the trail. Which meant that Walkabout must have hit it earlier in the day during her regular litter patrol. Greg & I also saw SR intern Eli Francovich jogging shirtless along the trail. Eli’s pinchhitting for vacationing Scott Maben in the Coeur d’Alene office this week. Eli is a Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy graduate who has dipped his toe in journalism waters. Also, he’s in much better shape than either Greg or me. But at least we were out there trying.

Question: When did you last hike Tubbs Hill?
