Constitution isn’t ‘updated’

Curtis Stone (July 25) and Mickey Thompson (Aug 5), right or wrong, state various gun-related information about Switzerland. Personally, I couldn’t care less about Switzerland.

What I do care about is that Thompson believes the Second Amendment is “nebulous” and the NRA is blocking attempts to “update” it. One could read into Thompson’s letter that all of the first 10 amendments are “nebulous” for one reason or another and need to be “updated.”

This is a very dangerous line of thinking. The Constitution and first 10 amendments are very precise and clearly written so that the people would know the limitations put on the newly formed government.

The only thing that is unclear to me is why we the people have not held the government to the confines of the Constitution.
