How To Write A Superb LTE
In a superb letter to the Coeur d’Alene Press editor , Joe Hendrickson, tongue firmly cheeked, tells readers how to write a superb letter to the editor:
To better help readers have opinions, this opinion is provided free of charge. I have read Press opinions for an aggregate number of years so I know what I’m talking about.
1. Number your paragraphs. People will think you’re making a point and that you’re right.
2. When writing about someone’s opinion, use their name. Use as many mean words as you like but always include the word “liberal.” That way, they know it’s not personal and that they’re wrong.
3. Blame the president. That’s what he’s there for. It shows that you vote and know lots about politics and stuff.
4. The Bible can help an opinion. There are people who like the Bible and they will agree with you and be on your side.
5. Reference the Internet. A recent .com study concluded that everything on the Internet is true.
6. Most of all, write lots of opinions. One is bound to be printed, providing great pride because The Press only prints opinions that are true and that they agree with.
