Texas quarterback commits to WSU

Cody Brewer, a towering quarterback from Flour Bluff High in Corpus Christi, Texas, accepted a scholarship offer from WSU today.

Brewer, a 6-foot-6, 215-pound senior, takes the place of Ian Book, who had previously accepted a scholarship to play quarterback for WSU but recently announced his decision to attend Notre Dame, instead.

As you can see in the video below, Brewer has a pretty strong arm, throwing a few 50-yard balls with pretty good velocity. It helps to have long arms.

Besides being the tallest quarterback Mike Leach has recruited to WSU, Brewer also appears to be a pretty good athlete, holding scholarship offers to both football and basketball from Houston Baptist, Texas A&M Kingsville and Sam Houston State, according to Braulio Perez of Cougfan.com

With Brewer’s commitment, there are now 10 players that have publicly accepted football scholarships at WSU in the class of 2016.
