The Wind Did It

It wasn’t vandalism. It was the wind. Coeur d’Alene’s Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Lauper sent the following email to Huckleberries Online re: the report on AM Scanner Traffic that vandals had destroyed the umbrellas at the Harbor House:

“Today, 8/14/15, 0815, the FD and PD responded to the Harbor House at McEuen Park for a report of vandalism. The vendor experienced severe damage to all (4) of his umbrellas. Upon investigation, it was determined his employees left the umbrellas out last evening (@2030 hours) and a thunderstorm and damaging winds (Gust above 35MPH) passed through the area shortly after the employees left. All the damage to the umbrellas and other light items moved indicated directional damage from the south to the north. Randy the owner was present during the investigation and was satisfied and relieved with the investigation findings.”
