Inundated with campaigns
My goodness. I am sure that there are many seniors who remember the good old days when each state sent delegates to the presidential conventions to nominate their party’s candidate. I remember this better than most seniors, as I had a relative who was a delegate to the Democratic party’s convention. They were chosen because of monetary donations and working hard to help get their party members elected to county and state offices. As I recall, they spent a lot of time and money to acquire this prestigious honor.
The conventions usually had three or four rounds of states nominating their favorite sons, which was to honor this person and feel out who the real candidate was going to be. This was only about two or three months before the November election.
Now we are inundated with well over a year of listening to and watching the dreamers in the Republican Party and the timid Democrats who are waiting for Hillary Clinton to make more mistakes.
It bothers me that those of us, on the north side of 80 years old, who have put up with this nonsense, may not even get to vote.
