Want Condon vote back
Several months ago when I read about the transfer of Monique Cotton to her new position, I recall thinking to myself she was sexually harassed. Most recently, when my husband and I left the movie “Spotlight” last weekend, the obvious parallels between the church’s handling of priests who abused and our city’s corresponding behavior was unavoidable.
As a professional woman, I have experienced first-hand the mind field that exists in a male-dominated workforce. Compounding this situation is the abhorrent behavior of the mayor. To knowingly disregard policy regarding the handling of sexual harassment situations is inexcusable.
Over the years, as a leader of a large workforce, I have often been presented with situations of harassment or a hostile work environment. It is my job to do ensure the right and fair action for all parties involved, including communicating to the victim that silence is not, nor can it ever be, the answer.
The mayor not only did not do this fundamental duty, his behavior was offensive, and terminable as well. I wish I could take my vote back.
