Add light on Indian Trail Road
Since moving to the older section of the Indian Trail neighborhood 14 years ago, there has been huge growth at the northern end of Indian Trail Road, with new housing projects and a large number of multi-unit housing. Now, there is a 90-plus apartment complex in the works to add to the congested traffic.
Additionally, traffic speeds on Indian Trail far exceed the posted 30 mph. Trying to turn north from any of the streets on the west side of Indian Trail from Kathleen Avenue to Francis Avenue is taking your life at risk. Trying to take an alternative route to miss Indian Trail going north is impossible because no secondary streets are available from Kathleen to Strong Road.
I am all for additional development in the area, but since new development has long since passed the older section by, there has been no consideration by city planners to address the dangerous traffic situation from Kathleen to Francis. If a developer wants to add additional development anywhere on the Indian Trail Road, I would suggest that they have to fund at least one traffic light, possibly at the Woodside intersection. That would allow us to safely cross or enter Indian Trail.
