Spokane impresses lineman
On Nov. 17, the Spokane community was struck by near-hurricane force winds, with heavy damage to Spokane’s power infrastructure. The staff and crews from Avista worked around the clock to restore power to all of their customers.
I work for a contracting line company that helped Avista with the restoration. I have close to 40 years of lineman experience, and I have been involved with countless storms. I am writing because I was so impressed with the Spokane community. They are the best.
When people asked, “How long until they get electric service?” No matter the answer, good or bad, they always thanked our crew. Their support will not be forgotten. Avista managed all of the crew in a professional and productive manner, always putting crew in a position to be most effective in the repairs.
Matt Anderson was our crew’s Avista representative. Matt stayed out in front of the crew, laying out the work and ordering the materials. The most important part is crew safety. Matt did a great job.
Although being out of power for days is a great hardship, take comfort knowing those involved did all they could to restore electric service.
