Fiorina part of circus

Regarding “Fiorina a candidate of substance (Dec. 11)”:

Jim Barbieri wants voters to support Carly Fiorina, failed chief executive officer and failed candidate for the Senate, as an alternative to the clowns the tea party has forced on the Republican Party.

If demonstrated executive competence were the primary qualifier, as the writer suggests, Martin O’Malley would be leading Democratic Party polls and John Kasich would be leading GOP polls.

Sadly, conflict sells soap, competence does not. So we get this media circus act instead of a thorough contest of ideas from serious, proven political leaders. Fiorina is just another clown in the miniature car of half-baked ideas that scare a response from low-information polling targets.
