The week’s openings: T stands for Tarantino
It’s Tarantino time. The latest effort from the colorful, controversial director Quentin Tarantino will open Friday — one of two mainstream area openings this week. The week’s releases:
Wednesday
“Carol” : Two women meet in 1952 and, against all the taboos of the time, gradually engage in an affair. They likely don’t wear “I like Ike” buttons.
Friday
“The Hateful Eight” : A bunch of rough gunslingers hold up in a remote tavern and end up battling over a woman who is being taken to be hung. Since Samuel L. Jackson is part of the cast, expect some references to the Book of Ezekiel .
There you have it. Go. See a movie. Enjoy.
