B-Run steelhead are angler eye pleasers

Fishing guide Toby Wyatt holds a Clearwater River B-run steelhead for a client. (Reel Time Fishing)

FISHING — Snake River steelhead come in two varieties: the beautiful early A-run fish that might run about six pounds and the spectacular bigger  B-run fish like one pictured above.

Most of the B-run steelies are bound for Idaho’s Clearwater River, and now’s a darned good time to catch them holing up in uncrowded stretches, says Clarkston-based fishing guide Toby Wyatt of Reel Time Fishing.

He sent this photo of a fish caught this week as an example.
