… 148 trees remain to be cut along the Dike Road (Rosenberry Drive). Mrs.O and I counted the green dots on trees that remain upright along the north shore that is undergoing an intense tree/brush thinning project, conducted by the Coeur d’Alene Street Department. Most of the remaining trees targeted for the chainsaw are smaller ones. Mrs. O and I were able to walk on the road Saturday because work had been suspended for the weekend. Spokesman Keith Erickson of the city of Coeur d’Alene told Huckleberries Friday that the tree-cutting phase of project would be finished by mid-February at the latest.
