God didn’t help Seahawks
Thank God. Really?
Russell Wilson has proven to be a good guy as well as a good quarterback. The Seahawks are an easy team to root for. But Pastor John Weston’s interjection of God in the Seahawks’ win over the Packers has me stunned.
If Wilson’s relationship with God helped him with his relationship with football, good on him. If he didn’t give up in the game because he would never give up on God, as an example, more power to him. But I don’t believe God decides football games.
The good minister tells us God gave the Seahawks a gift(s). That can’t happen without taking something away from the Green Bay Packers, who won 58 minutes of the game and gave it away without any apparent help from God.
As a lifelong Christian, I am dismayed that Weston thinks God had anything at all to do with the game’s outcome. Is the Packers’ relationship with God not as good as the Seahawks’? I guess not.
