Poll: Most Back Tree Thinning

  • Monday Poll: A majority of Hucks Nation selected an option that supported the tree thinning project by the city of Coeur d’Alene along Dike Road (Rosenberry Drive). 51 of 161 respondents (31.68%) said the thinning project was a good compromise with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, which wanted all 1000 trees removed from the dike. 38 of 161 (23.6%) said the thinning project opens up the water vista. 13 (8.07%) said it strengthens Dike Road. However, 48 of 161 respondents (29.81%) said the city has cut too many trees. Other responses: 6 (3.73%) marked “other,” and 5 (3.11%) were undecided.
