Seth Paetel, left, and Victoria Taylor, right, brought Lady Diana, a Shetland pony, to the Capitol on today as the Senate State Affairs Committee listened to testimony about SB1011, which would repeal instant racing in Idaho. Lawmakers approved the new type of betting in 2013. Lady Diana is a service pony, and a non-profit called Personal Ponies LLC has nearly 50 such service ponies in various communities. They receive grant money from the Idaho Horse Council, which receives a percentage of money wagered on live, simulcast and instant horse racing in Idaho. Story below.
