A Twin Falls senator will introduce a bill on Wednesday that would require Idaho students to pass a test of basic United States history and civics knowledge — the same test immigrants applying for U.S. citizenship must pass. Sen. Jim Patrick, R-Twin Falls, said the bill would make the test a condition for graduation. Beginning in the 2017-18 school year, senior-level students would be required to correctly answer at least 70 percent of 100 questions taken from the U.S. Citizenship Civics Test in order to qualify for graduation from a secondary school.
