Pastor in Muslim grip

ISIS fighters are terrorists and, as our president stated, whatever their ideology is, it is extreme. But even though they are labeled ISIS (Islamic State in Syria), Obama insists that they are neither Islamic nor a state. The Washington Post published a transcript of his Sept. 10 speech in which he states, “ISIL is not Islamic. No religion condones the killing of innocents.”

Therefore, I ask, “What about Iran?” Iran is a large and modern state. It has a population of 77 million people and is definitely Islamic, with 99 percent of its people Muslim. And yet this Islamic nation is slowly and brutally “killing” a gentle, godly man, Saeed Abedini.

This Christian pastor has been imprisoned for two years for starting an orphanage. Even though our country has requested his release, Iran refuses, because under their Shariah law it is legal to persecute non-Muslim religions.

Not only has this man been imprisoned, but he has been repeatedly beaten and denied medical help for the resulting internal injuries. Pastor Saeed will probably not live to serve out his eight-year term unless Iran will listen to the world and release this innocent man.
