Fagan ruckus overblown

All this ruckus over Spokane City Councilman Mike Fagan and his views regarding vaccination is so childish and hypocritical that I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. The reasons are too many to cover in 200 words or less, but I’ll point out two or three.

If Fagan’s views are so ridiculous and unfounded in medical science, why worry? Does the council disqualify those who believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny? Pray tell, why even have councils and committees if it is demanded that all members always simply, unthinkingly rubber-stamp leadership?

Is it not rather ironic that about the same time this ridiculing of Fagan hit the press, the local and national news was that medical science has now done a major flip-flop on cholesterol? For years it was certain to kill us, but now medical science admits the fear has been overblown.

To me, the very fact that some council members are bent out of shape over this is proof that they fear Fagan just might have a point. I could easily go on, but I’m out of words for this letter.
