Barbieri To Mind Idaho’s Business
Even before Vito Barbieri was first elected to the Idaho Legislature in 2010, he had questions about the role of government in regulating
business and hindering competition. Just days after filing for office, he told the Coeur d’Alene Press “too many regulations have been implemented without considering the net effect they have on hurting businesses’ ability to (earn a) profit.”
Shrinking government and shrinking the regulations that stifle business, he said, would be one of his top priorities. Now the 63-year-old Dalton Gardens representative is in a position to make good on that promise. As the newly appointed chairman of the House Business Committee, Barbieri will be chief sentinel over a broad range of regulatory issues, ranging from building codes and occupational licenses to insurance and real estate industry rules/William L. Question: Is Rep. Barbieri up to the roll of chairing the House Business Committee?
