Wolves moving in

Regarding Ron Reed’s Jan. 4 letter:

The wolves that were reintroduced to Washington are not indigenous to the United States, but are Canadian wolves. Canadian wolves are almost twice the size and weight of our indigenous wolves.

The billboards that you speak of don’t tell lies and are not repulsive, but represent what could happen to you, a loved one, a pet or your livelihood.

In 2013 and 2014, two ranchers lost livestock, which is their livelihood, to wolf predation. In neither case did non-lethal management work. There have been fatal wolf attacks on people in Alaska and Canada, so what makes you think that it could not happen here?

It is just a matter of time before the wolves move into Spokane County, and then we will see what is done about them. If dogs in a pack of two will attack a child or adult, what makes you think a wolf pack will not?
