Gum Theft Arrest Angers Emailers

Huckleberries has learned … that angry callers and emailers from around the nation have targeted the city of Post Falls, PFPD and Post Falls city prosecutor’s office, as a result of the arrest of the 9-year-old boy for stealing chewing gum. This, despite the fact that the county prosecutor’s office issued to arrest warrant. Here’s a sample of the pointed emails received by Huckleberries:

• “I hope your rinky dink department AND county goes bankrupt. You people should just as well seize the parents house in order to pay the restitution for the package of gum that was no doubt put right back on the shelf in the store.”
• “What kind of jackass issues an arrest for on a nine year old boy for stealing a pack of gum.  This is political correctness to the nth degree.”
• “I’m not really sure how you could be that retarded. I’m  also not sure how you figure out how to put pants on each day, being as stupid as you are.”
