On The Waterfront
Don’t tell Stickman, but city street workers are busy toppling trees along the south face of the Dike Road this afternoon, from about North Idaho College’s sand volleyball courts to Hubbard Avenue, on the eastern edge of the campus. The Dike Road is blocked. I counted about 18 trees down so far. Walking partner Greg Lee and I had to detour through the college campus to finish our lunch walk today. On the western side of the college, the tree toppling seems to be nearing an end, on both sides. It appears that trees closer to the beach have been spared, along with the bigger healthier ones. But there’s a lot mid-range to smaller trees now being transported off the Dike Road in dump trucks.
Question: I’m curious here. At what point does Rosenberry Drive become West Lakeshore Drive? And does Dike Road apply to both stretches as a common name?
