School tax measures needed
I am the mother of two kids that attend Ridgeview Elementary. I’m also a member of the parent-teacher organization and a regular volunteer at the school. I have seen all of the wonderful things that the teachers and staff can do with the proper funding. As a result, I believe that the upcoming levy and bond renewal is necessary for kids to be able to continue to learn and thrive in a positive environment.
It’s important that the community knows that this levy is not a new tax. Renewing this levy will continue to provide basic supplies such as textbooks and technology materials. It also provides for educational programs like music and athletics.
Replacing the expiring bond will not result in a tax rate increase either. The bond provides for upgrading buildings and making sure that schools are safe and secure.
I feel good about taking my kids to school every morning, knowing that they will be safe and have all the things they need to get a good education. I hope the community will continue to support schools and, in doing so, continue to give kids the opportunity for success in the near and distant future.
