TGIF Wild Card — 1.30.15

Not only is Super Bowl XLIX (I finally can remember the sequence of Roman numerals for this one) upon us, but one of my favorite milestone days of the year follows it Monday, Feb. 2. I consider Groundhog’s Day (which was my father’s birthday) to be the beginning of the end of winter. This year, of course, winter hasn’t been much of an ordeal. But Groundhog’s Day is still a reminder that we’re headed toward spring. Mebbe we should have a moment of silence Monday for all those trees along the Dike Road who didn’t survive the winter.
