Do you remember Blair Business College?
Blair Business College went out of business in 1933, the depths of the Depression in America, but it is remembered as part of the push for vocational training for those not headed to high school. There were several in Spokane before the Depression, trying to teach office skills such as shorthand, typing, bookkeeping and spelling and promise a rosy future in business. The Then and Now column for Monday, July 6 will about Hugh C. Blair and his business school, which started in another building downtown.
