Young people need insurance

Shane Dean (“Jackson should do research” – July 1) is a bit forgetful himself. Healthy young people should have health insurance to pay for their pregnancies, child health and general health check-ups. His argument assumes that only older people use our medical community.

How many of us know youngsters who have used other government free services for their child’s birth, and also receive other government money? The term “working the system” is an open wound for many of us. Time to stop the bleeding.
