“Just back from the Bayview town briefing & today has been good to us. They believe there is no longer a threat to any additional structures. They hope to have escorted trips to the homes on Cape Horn tomorrow. They hope to have power restored and personal car & boat access open to homeowners or their proxies on Thursday. The fire still sounds bad over the other side of the mountain, but offered few details on that. They said the underbrush & fuel burnt in this fire will make the area safer this year, but by next year, it will already be fertilizer promoting new underbrush & fuel & it is all of our responsibility in a wild fire danger zone, to create defensible areas around our homes to protect them here. These responders have been amazing!”
