Illegal fireworks careless

As I write this, many of our neighbors in Suncrest are setting off illegal fireworks, as they do every year. But this year it seems a slap in the faces of firefighters who have been fighting the various fires surrounding our area day and night, specifically the one in Springdale that was not contained.

We can see and smell the smoke. It sounds like a war zone around us. We are in an area of hundreds of pine trees, extra dry this year. I do applaud the decision to cancel the professional display here in Suncrest. It was the smart, safe and sane thing to do. I am disappointed that our neighbors did not follow and choose this decision.
