Tom Fritz, who led Inland Northwest Health Services to become one of the region’s largest employers, was found dead in Lake Coeur d’Alene Monday, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. Fritz’s body was pulled from Lake Coeur d’Alene lake yesterday afternoon, according to a news release. Authorities identified the dead man as Fritz, 63. He was found tangled in the boat’s fishing lines after deputies responded to reports that an unoccupied fishing boat near the southern end of Lake Coeur d’Alene was going in circles. Two people had towed the unoccupied boat to Mowry State Park. Sheriff’s deputies found Fritz’s body tangled in downrigger lines in about 35 feet of water. Fritz retired from INHS on Dec. 31 after leading the nonprofit for 16 years/SR. More here.
